What is this obstacle course like??  Well, someone gave us a bulldozer and several days off and way too much coffee…  It’s a full-on, up-down-and-over course with deep sand, log crossings, and more.  Whether you’re a novice, or an expert, you’ll have lines through the course that will suit your abilities.

You can either ride it on your own during open times (see schedule) or join the Obstacle Course Challenge, where you’ll compete for points (dabs = deductions) and prizes.  Included with your DD Wristband

After hours, we do fun things.   Actually, after hours YOU do fun things, and we give you prizes.  We have all sorts of riding games and contests going on, suitable for every type of rider (except for the “self-respecting” type).  Show up, sign up, and have fun.

Better Together on the SEBDR, by Donna Farrell

Finding Rhythm, Resilience, and Connection on the Trail -Six women set out to ride the Southeast Backcountry Discovery Route just one month after its debut, with one goal: to see if we could complete one of the country’s newest Backcountry Discovery Routes. Along the way, we discovered something even more meaningful, that we were truly better together. Not everything went according to plan. We faced mechanical issues, a lot of bruises, challenging terrain, changing weather, and the countless obstacles that make every Backcountry Discovery Route an unforgettable adventure. In the end, four of us completed the route, and three riders successfully rode every official section of the 1,300-mile SEBDR, becoming the first all-women’s group to accomplish that milestone. Our journey was later featured in a two-part series in Bike Travel Adventures Magazine and in BMW Owners News.  Join Donna Farrell for an inspiring presentation featuring stunning photography, memorable stories, and lessons learned along the trail. Trailside Medical Care – These 45 minutes could save your buddy’s life.  Presented by David Finley 

This session will cover the fundamentals of assessing and managing injuries in remote, off-road riding environments. We will review the injuries most commonly encountered in adventure motorcycling, how to evaluate an injured rider, and how to stabilize, temporize, and provide initial treatment until professional medical care can be reached.

We will also discuss what to carry in a practical motorcycle first-aid kit and how to use each item effectively. By the end of the session, you should have a better understanding of how to respond to common riding injuries, make sound decisions in the field, and provide meaningful assistance to an injured riding partner.

David Finley is a thoracic surgeon with more than 20 years of clinical experience at Dartmouth Health. He is also a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, serving as a surgeon with a Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment. A former EMT and a part-time adventure motorcyclist, he brings both medical and practical field experience to wilderness trauma care.

Chain Tensioning 101 – Your Chain Wants You To Check In On It Every Ride, by Jesse Pacht

Adventure bikes feature long travel suspensions that require more chain slack than street bikes. An incorrect tension can damage your transmission output shaft bearing, snap the chain, ruin your sprockets, or ruin your day.

Following this tribute, Chris will dive into his creative process, sharing insights into his passion for storytelling and his experiences behind the lens for projects like Backcountry Discovery Routes films and MoskoMoto ADV Weekend movies. The seminar will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, providing attendees a unique opportunity to engage with one of the industry’s most talented creators.

Chris Wallbrech is a filmmaker and director, whose projects include several BDR movies, MoskoMoto films and numerous other adv-related projects.
